The largest players in this market offer counselling free of charge. That is genuinely free to you — and it is funded entirely by university commission.
Which means the adviser's income rises when you enrol somewhere that pays them, and does not rise at all when the honest answer is "that course is wrong for you" or "do not apply this year". That is not an accusation of dishonesty. It is a structural fact about how the free model works, and it is never disclosed.
We charge a fee precisely so that we can afford to tell you things that lose us the sale. You should weigh that when you compare us to free — and you should ask every consultant you meet, including us, the same question: who pays you, and what happens to your income if you tell me not to apply?
